Presenting “Chromogenic” directed by Sarah McColgan live on Fresh Intelligence
"Paint me a picture where I am the artist and my own muse, where makeup is my palette and skin is my canvas; as inspiration and colors emerge, I rise from the canvas and become my own art.”
Capturing over 1400 still images over the course of eight hours, photographer Sarah McColgan collaborates with makeup artist Victor Henao to create a vibrant stop-animation film exploring the limits of traditional beauty photography; part of an ongoing personal project where the duo explores the idea of using human faces in place of traditional artist canvases. Graduating from the School of Visual Arts, McColgan’s career spans a wide range of global publications both in print and digital; Producing award winning work in the worlds of commercial beauty, McColgan’s images have been used in campaigns across a spectrum of brands including Cover Girl, Pantene, and Pepsi.
